Breakfast Smoothie

Good morning world!

Breakfast is easily my favorite meal of the day, and some say the most important. It’s important to me to start my day on the right foot and fill my body with the nutrients it needs to get me through my morning. When I have time and the fresh ingredients available, I will blend up a delicious protein fruit smoothie.

Breakfast Boost Protein Smoothie

1/2 cup Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk

1 Banana

5-8 Strawberries (depending on size)

1 cup Blueberries

1/3 cup Spinach or Kale (or a mixture)

1 scoop Usana Chocolate Whey Nutrimeal

5-7 Ice Cubes

Total Calories per 16oz serving = 285

You can swap out any Protein powder instead of the Chocolate Whey, but I like that it satisfies my chocolate cravings in a healthy and beneficial way. It also provide some of the daily Protein that I need to balance out all of the Fiber I’m getting from the fruit.

I have also been experimenting with using Chia seeds in my smoothies as well, but I’ve found that I don’t like to use them when I use Strawberries – too many opportunities for seeds to get stuck in my teeth.

Kicking off my morning with a fruit, veggie, and protein boost sets me up to make healthier decisions about my food choices later in the day. Besides making me feel full and refreshed, my Breakfast Boost Protein Smoothie makes me feel like I’m furthering my pursuit of Health.

I also love breakfast because I feel like it’s a clean slate to make good, healthy decisions about how I fuel my body. Over indulge on popcorn or sweet treats the night before on movie night? Went out to dinner and made a less than healthy entree choice? Though those calories can’t be reversed, today is a new day to commit to the pursuit of Health.

How do you boost your morning to make everyday the best day?
