Taylor Swift at Soldier Field

After Taylor Swift’s big night at MTV’s Video Music Awards last night, I can’t help but be reminded of the amazing night I spent with Taylor and 40,000 of her friends in Soldier Field a little over a month ago.

It was a night filled with Taylor’s signature two-piece ensembles and all of her hits from 1989. It was magical. So much so, that my boyfriend couldn’t deny it was one of the best shows he’s ever seen.

Taylor has been an inspiration to me since she first sang about the teardrops on her guitar. Beside her vocal talent and love of cats, I’ve always felt that Taylor is extremely relatable to me. She sings about the love that we’ve all lost, the dreams we’ve all dreamt, and the feelings we’ve all felt.

It helps that I’m only two months older than her, but she has this way of making everyone at her show feel like they’re her best friends. Maybe because she said it a few times, but she’s so in touch with her fans. She’s real. She’s relatable, and she’s proves time and time again that she truly cares about her fans.

There’s something to be said about someone who’s achieved such levels of success at such a young age but yet who is so down to earth. She works hard, she takes care of herself, and she cares about others. I can’t think of a better inspiration for myself, and other young women everywhere.
