2018, Imma let you finish, but I have a feeling that 2019 is going to be the best year yet! I always get so excited for NYE and moving into a New Year! I love time spent reminiscing and reflecting on the past year, and getting rejuvenated and refocused for the year to come! With 2018, I have a lot of fond memories, a few not so good, but plenty that I am happy to recall and carry with me into 2019!
Here’s a few of my favorite memories from 2018…
If you know me, you know I’m pretty much always up for a gathering or celebration! In January, I was able to travel to Chicago to celebrate the Bachelorette party of my friend Stephanie!
Not too long after the Bachelorette Party, we had a great time celebrating Stephanie and Joe’s wedding at the Best Place in Milwaukee! Cold beer, great food, and a good DJ made for one memorable party!
Throughout the year, I always cherish moments I get to spend with my family! This year I celebrated many holidays, birthdays, and special occasions with them and am always thankful I live close enough to most of my family and relatives to do so! The picture below was taken on a beautiful Mother’s Day before brunching with my mom and few of my other favorite moms!
Keeping with the celebrations of love and relationships, I traveled to Dallas to celebrate the Bachelorette Party of my friend Nastassja! It was an amazing weekend in the most beautiful house with a fabulous group of girls!
After celebrating Nastassja and Andrew’s beautiful wedding in Madison, I took a long weekend trip to Boston!
A Red Sox win, cold beers at Sam Adams, and an amazing show from The Carter’s for the OTR Tour made for a busy, but fun weekend for mine and Jeff’s 6th Anniversary!
A favorite memory of mine from 2018 was attending MKE Fashion Week with some gorgeous blogger babes and creatives from Milwaukee! The Fashion was fun, the wine was tasty, and the after party was exciting! This year I really put myself out there to become an active member of the blogger community in my city, and participating in events like these was a great start!
I’ve also pushed myself out of my comfort zone and into new territories with my blog! Particularly through opportunities to collaborate and connect with other bloggers in Milwaukee through Blogger Collab Day! Learning to say yes to new opportunities, even when they make you a little nervous, can open a door to amazing !new experiences and friendships! It’s a good quality to know when to say no, but it’s also important to know when to say yes!
I ran my second half marathon in 2018! Though it was a lot of hard work, frustrating at times from injuries, and a lot of time spent training, I’m happy I did it! I’m going to be focusing more on how I can push myself and my body to new heights in 2019, starting with training for another half marathon this Spring to beat my previous time!
In 2018, I welcomed my 29th year of life and had a blast doing it! It’s off to a pretty kickass start with fun photoshoots, cool concerts, and terrific trips!
I couldn’t get through my favorite memories of 2018 without talking about Gals That Brunch. Earlier this year I became the City Leader and I am so excited about all that’s brought to my life so far. Connection, community, creativity, and not too mention, more mimosas and eggs Benedict. I simply cannot express how excited I am to see what’s on my plate for GTB MKE in 2019!
In 2018, I also had the pleasure of traveling to Nashville, San Francisco, New York, Memphis (ha that’s what I’m writing this from), Omaha, and the UP! I also saw some of my favorite artists in concert, like Queen Bey, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Dave Matthews Band, Justin Timberlake, Marshmello, Deathcab for Cutie, and I was able to see Aziz Ansari work on new comedy material. While in New York, I saw my first show on Broadway, saw the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, and took a quick boat trip to get up close to the Statue of Liberty!
But besides all of the trips, shows, and new experiences, I’m most thankful for opportunities to spend time with Jeff, my friends, and my family! It’s not about what you do or where you are, but who you’re with. I truly believe that, and 2018 was another great example of why it’s so important to make memories with the people you love! I’m definitely going to be focusing on appreciating the special moments, whether I’m traveling somewhere far away or just at home cuddled up on the couch.
With all of that said, I can’t wait to see where 2019 takes me (and Jeff). It’s sure to be the best year yet.
