One of the many benefits of living life in the Midwest is getting to enjoy the magic of each season. Fall happens to be one of my favorite times of the year, because of the beautiful changing leaves, I love Fall Fashion, and I get to decorate my apartment to get ready for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Every year, I always love turning my apartment into a pumpkin patch, which I may have gotten a little carried away with this year. Also, having an excuse to keep chocolates & candy around the apartment (for Halloween, obviously) is never a bad thing either. Well, maybe for my tummy, but tis the season.
This year, I picked out a few new pumpkin and fall decor pieces to add to my collection. I don’t mind investing in a few nicer pieces, especially ones that I know I will love and incorporate into my seasonal decor for years to come. If you know my boyfriend’s mom, she is the queen of seasonal decor, and she continues to inspire me in making our apartment more festive every year. I love visiting my boyfriend’s parents house, especially when the holidays are coming up, because it is seriously #decorgoals. Here’s a few of the new decor items I added to my fall decor lineup for this season!
I love to add a few seasonal decor touches to each room, so I’ve shared a few of my favorite picks/pics for some fall decor inspiration from each space in my apartment pumpkin patch.
I opted for a combination of blue, white, and grey pumpkins in our room, since we have a blue/gray accent wall! I love switching up the colors throughout the house to make each room a bit unique! I also love placing pumpkins in slightly unexpected places for a little surprise, though I know I will end up forgetting where I put some of them when I’m switching them out for Christmas decor.
Our main living area is an open concept space that includes our living room, dining area, main entryway, and kitchen. I like to make sure each room in our home has a little touch of festive holiday decor, so I’ve used a variety of colored and textured pumpkins, greenery and foliage, and decorative touches throughout. I was planning to use the bat decals on the walls, but I read a few reviews that said the adhesive that comes with could take paint off, so I opted to use magnetic tap and make them into magnets to put on my newly refurbished lockers from A Little Love Store! My favorite piece in the clear glass pumpkin that I put over a tall candle, which adds a nice ambience to the room on cool fall evenings.
Both bathrooms received a bit of a facelift in recent weeks, with updates to the main decor, as well as adding some pumpkins into the mix! My guest bathroom has always had gold accents, so the studded white pumpkin was a perfect choice. In our main bathroom, I recently traded out some silver accents with the matte black tray, so the little black pumpkins were the obvious choice.
Let me know what you think! Also, feel free to share pics of your fall decor or pumpkin patch!
