Fall is here and in the Midwest, that means light jackets and sweaters, ankle booties, and scarves are on the style menu. It also means I’m welcoming back deeper, gemstone hues back into my life, and I couldn’t be more excited! I love the chill in the air because layering is my favorite. As a girl who’s lived in the Midwest my entire life, I’m used to the drastic temperature changes throughout the year, and though I do love summer, saying goodbye to the heat and humidity isn’t too difficult. I’m the kind of person who can’t exist in the Summer without A/C, so I’m excited for temps in the 60’s and 70’s, which means less sweating (amirite?). That’s always a win to me.
For this Fall, I’ve been keeping an eye on the trends as I add some newness to my fall wardrobe. I’ve said this a few times, but I’ll say it again: my fall wardrobe is my favorite. I love cozy sweaters, scarves, cute boots, and getting to enjoy my favorite layers without dealing with snow and blistering cold. And though I won’t be spending as much time out and about showcasing my Fall wardrobe this year, there are a few trends for colors, prints, silhouettes, and fabrics that I’m excited to see for this season…
The leaves are changing here in the Midwest and so are the hues that I am choosing for my outfits! Like I said, Fall is all about darker hues and rich gemstone colors. I also love playing with neutrals and adding pops of color in my accessories, jackets, and shoes.

I love mixing and matching prints during any season, but there’s something about Fall with its darker take on florals and plaids that has me loving it even more. Although a lot of these prints are popular year round, I like the moodier hues we get to play with in Fall!

This year has been about wearing anything that makes you feel comfortable and cozy. With a lot of people now spending more time at home on the weekends and working from home during the week, the fits have gotten looser and more relaxed.

Remember, cozy is the name of the game this season! Don’t be surprised to find super soft fabrics make a return to keep you feeling snuggled up all season long. If there’s anything that I like to be on a consistent basis, especially now that I’m working from home all of the time, it’s cozy and snuggled.
