For as long as I can remember, I have been concerned with taking care of my skin. I’m sure you can relate. Also, what is involved in my skincare process has evolved over the years. As I’ve aged and learned more about products and issues I face with my skin, I’ve picked up new tools. Throughout everything I have learned about my skin over the years, a few tips have remained constant;
What I didn’t realize is that there’s more to it than what I put on my face. Sure, I’ve heard the warnings that eating too many greasy foods can lead to breakouts. But it wasn’t until recently that I realized I can treat and care for my skin through what I put in my body. Hence why collagen has become a part of my daily routine. As we age, it’s no secret that our bodies and skin begins to change. Collagen production begins to slow after age 25 and continues to decline year over year. Variations in hormones, diet, lifestyle, and stress levels can also play an impact on our skin’s health. With all of that to consider when caring for my skin, I am willing to do what it takes to keep it happy and healthy.
That’s why I’m loving my new habit of monthly facials. Besides seeing Maggie at Aesthetically Well each month to give my skin a little TLC, she gave me some amazing recommendations on products to incorporate into my everyday skincare routine from Osmosis Beauty. As a brand I wasn’t previously familiar with, Maggie explained about the products. She also detailed why she was recommending adding each specific product into my routine. Osmosis Beauty is all about treating and caring for your skin from the inside out. They provide products that are applied to my skin, but also supplements and elixirs. Here’s the breakdown on my new clean skincare routine from Osmosis Beauty.
A good cleanser is key to a quality skincare routine. Washing the day off of your face is easy with this natural cleanser. It’s great to use to treat blemishes and also fights the signs of aging. I use the Cleanse Gentle Cleanser in the morning when I’m washing my face in the shower. I also use it sometimes in the evening after I’ve removed my makeup. It’s gentle and leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, and supple. Maggie recommended I use Cleanse to to gently and completely clean my skin.
Potentially my favorite product out of the bunch, the Rescue Epidermal Repair Serum is awesome. It is meant to improve the appearance of the skin’s texture and even out skin tone, as well as treating irritation or blemishes. I use this serum right after I use the cleanser, and apply to my face, neck, and armpits. Did I just say armpits? Yes, yes I did. Maggie recommended also using this product on my underarms or anywhere where I might have skin tags or irritation. Since I’ve been using it, I have noticed that my skin is clearer and more even, and my underarms look less irritated, especially after I’ve shaved. One thing to note, it has a slight chlorine-esque scent. Besides that, it’s amazing.
The final topical product Maggie recommended from Osmosis Beauty is the Quench Nourishing Moisturizer. Used daily after the Enzyme Cleanser and Epidermal Repair Serum, the Nourishing Moisturizer hydrates and leaves my skin feeling silky soft. It’s non-greasy, has a delightful citrus scent, and feels so lightweight on my skin. What I love about this moisturizer is that a little goes a long way. It doesn’t take half of the bottle to be able to spread over my entire face and neck, only one small dollop. Maggie recommended pairing this moisturizer with a light facial sunscreen to keep my skin moisturized and protected.
As you may have guessed, the new product I’ve introduced into my skincare routine is not meant to be applied to my skin, but ingested into my body. Meet the Skin Perfection Elixir. This natural elixir is a must in your routine if you want healthy digestion and flawless skin. Supporting a healthy gut means supporting healthy skin, which is why I am loving Skin Perfection. Just a few pumps of this elixir into my lemon water every morning leaves me feeling detoxified, refreshed, and ready to take on the day. What’s that floating in Skin Perfection? Oh, just 24-karat gold. It’s edible, don’t worry.
The final Osmosis Beauty product I’ve added to my routine is the Recovery Prebiotic, Omega, & Fat Pad Renewal supplement. Taking one tablespoon every morning with my vitamin routine, Recovery is meant to replace the facial volume loss due to aging. By reactivating fat cells in the face, Recovery alleviates the need for fillers. I would much rather take a tablespoon of this everyday as opposed to getting fillers put in my face. Maggie recommended this product to help with the dark circles under my eyes, as well as for the Prebiotic and Omega recovery benefits. Though the majority of benefits of this supplement are seen over longterm use, I do feel like my skin looks brighter and more youthful, and my digestion is improved.
I’ve been using these new Osmosis Beauty products since early April and I have to admit that I am pretty pleased with the results so far. Besides the monthly facials, I feel like my skin has become brighter, my skin tone has become more even, and I don’t notice the dark circles under my eyes as much. I feel more confident going without makeup. I’ve actually left the house more often not feeling like I need to put it on if it’s not for something special where I would prefer to be dolled up.
The only issues I’ve run into so far is just with the slight chlorine-scent of the Repair, and the initial taste of the Recovery. Since it is an oil, it took a few days getting used the texture and taste. But I have noticed that over time, I don’t mind the taste as much. When I mentioned this to Maggie, she shared that this was because my body was changing already from the Recovery! Though it is early on, I am excited to continue using these products and yield the benefits. It feels go to not only take care of my skin on the outside, but the inside as well.
Since working with Maggie at Aesthetically Well, I feel more confident in my skin. I love knowing that all of the products she recommended are specifically meant to address my concerns and issues with my skin and overall health. And with her help and my new clean skincare routine from Osmosis Beauty, I can have the best skin of my life.
