Brunch BTS: December Brunch at Don’s MKE

It feels so long ago, though it’s only been a few months. Does anyone else feel like December and January and February basically didn’t exist? Between a few quick trips, all of the holiday festivities, and getting back into gear in the new year, I can’t believe it’s already March! But no better time than now to look back on our December Brunch event at Don’s Diner MKE!

I was so excited when I heard a new diner by the owners of Hotel Madrid was moving in less than 2 miles from my home. If our July Brunch at Hotel Madrid showed me anything, it’s that this restaurant group knows how to have some fun putting together amazing food and cocktail menus! With that in mind, I knew Don’s was going to be very different from Hotel Madrid, but in all of the best ways. They do have a few things in common of course; chic decor, friendly staff, and a food and drink menu full of tasty and Instagrammable goodness.

With that in mind, I knew I needed to get our group in to try out this new spot! The diner is quaint and cozy, but with the back bar and semi-private room that is the Naughty Angels Rec Room, we had plenty of room! Bellied up to the bar, we enjoyed mimosas and boozy milkshakes, and some delicious brunch bites. The most popular items from the menu definitely were the Truffled Eggs and the Cherry Chambord Milkshake.

But before we dug into our delectables, we shared our gifts that we brought to be donated to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin! Giving back at any point of the year is extremely important to me, and who is more deserving than children who are spending their holidays at the Children’s Hospital! From stuffed animals to onesies and books and everywhere in between, our gals went all out to make sure a few deserving kids had one more reason to smile during the holiday season!

And what holiday party is complete without a gift exchange! With a $10 limit, our gals got creative in choosing special presents for the exchange. Cute coffee mugs, delightful bath bombs, quirky clutches, and more! Everyone went home with a gift they loved and some amazing memories. And maybe some leftovers.
